Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups buttermilk (for a light, tangy flavor)
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Butter and maple syrup for serving
Instructions
1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
2. In another bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
3. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed (batter will be lumpy).
4. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and grease with butter or oil.
6. Pour ¼ cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
7. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another minute.
8. Serve warm with syrup, extra chocolate chips, or whipped cream.
Notes
- Use mini chocolate chips for better distribution.
- Substitute whole wheat flour for a healthier version.
