Ingredients
- Cooked chicken (shredded)
- Stale bread cubes
- Celery (chopped)
- Onion (chopped)
- Chicken broth
- Eggs
- Butter
- Fresh sage (chopped)
- Fresh thyme (chopped)
- Salt & pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, cooked chicken, sage, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the cooked onion and celery mixture to the bowl and stir.
- Slowly pour in the chicken broth, a little at a time, until the bread cubes are moist but not soggy.
- 6-Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- You can use leftover chicken or rotisserie chicken for added flavor.
- Adjust the seasoning to your preference, adding more herbs if desired.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days before baking.
