Chicken dressing recipe is a savory dish made with tender chicken, flavorful herbs, and bread cubes, perfect for a holiday meal or family dinner.


Ingredients

  • Cooked chicken (shredded)
  • Stale bread cubes
  • Celery (chopped)
  • Onion (chopped)
  • Chicken broth
  • Eggs
  • Butter
  • Fresh sage (chopped)
  • Fresh thyme (chopped)
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, cooked chicken, sage, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the cooked onion and celery mixture to the bowl and stir.
  5. Slowly pour in the chicken broth, a little at a time, until the bread cubes are moist but not soggy.
  6. 6-Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use leftover chicken or rotisserie chicken for added flavor.
  • Adjust the seasoning to your preference, adding more herbs if desired.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days before baking.
